The Maine Wrap - Babywearing  

IMPORTANT please read all the instructions provided with your sling before using and keep for future reference. 

Ensure they are in an ergonomic position with legs in a wide squat position and knees higher than their bum (think of a 'M shape').

− Be mindful of your layers so that you and baby do not overheat. You will keep each other warmer than you think.  

− Maximum weight of 9kg/20lbs

− Keep baby’s head supported with the aid of the wrap by tucking slightly over their neck/ear area.

− The wrap should be tied in a double knot at the front or back of your body. 

− Do not use with hot drinks around baby's head. 

− Your movement and the child’s movement may affect your balance.

− Take care when bending and leaning forwards or sideways.

− The sling is not suitable for use during sporting activities e.g. running, cycling, swimming and skiing.

− The carer should be aware of the increased risk of your child falling out of the sling as it becomes more active.

− Regular inspection of the sling for any signs of wear and damage.

− Keep this sling away from children when it is not in use.

WARNING Constantly monitor your child and ensure the mouth and nose are unobstructed.

WARNING For pre-term, low birthweight babies and children with medical conditions, seek advice from a health professional before using this product.

WARNING Ensure your child’s chin is not resting on its chest as its breathing may be restricted which could lead to suffocation.

WARNING To prevent hazards from falling ensure that your child is securely positioned in the sling.

The Maine Wrap - Skin to Skin  

− The wrap should never be used standing or to transport baby. Only wear when seated and always supporting baby closely.

− Keep baby’s head supported with the aid of the wrap by tucking slightly over their neck/ear area.

− Be mindful of your layers so that you and baby do not overheat. You will keep each other warmer than you think.  

− Maximum weight of 9kg/20lbs

− The wrap should be tied in a double knot at the front or back of your body. 

− Do not use with hot drinks around baby's head. 

− Never fall asleep with baby in skin to skin position - we know how exhausted you are mama!

The Chicago Loop - Nursing

− The loop should never be used standing or to transport baby. Only wear when seated and always supporting baby closely.

− Be mindful of your layers so that you and baby do not overheat. You will keep each other warmer than you think.  

− Always remove your cover if baby falls asleep whilst feeding. 

− Do not use “hands free” unsupported whilst breastfeeding. Don’t worry, your hands are still free for coffee and cake, but keep baby’s head supported in your arm at all times.
