Safe & Sound

Babywearing

- Always check baby can breathe freely, airways are open and chin off chest.
- Ensure they are in an ergonomic position with legs in a wide squat position and knees higher than their bum (think of a 'M shape').
- Keep baby’s head supported with the aid of the wrap by tucking slightly over their neck/ear area.
- Be mindful of your layers so that you and baby do not overheat. You will keep each other warmer than you think.
- Don't bend at your waist, bend at your knees to keep baby upright
- Do not exercise with baby in the carrier, this is intended for light physical activity like walking.

Nursing

- The wrap should never be used standing or to transport baby. Only wear when seated and always supporting baby closely.
- Keep a close eye on their breathing and that they do not overheat, and always remove your cover if baby falls asleep whilst feeding.
- Do not use “hands free” unsupported whilst breastfeeding. Don’t worry, your hands are still free for coffee and cake, but keep baby’s head supported in your arm at all times.

 Skin to Skin

- The wrap should never be used standing or to transport baby. Only wear when seated and always supporting baby closely.
- Do not cover baby's face with the wrap when using. Always check they can breathe freely, airways are open and chin off chest.
- Ensure they are in an ergonomic position with legs in a wide squat position and knees higher than their bum (think of a frog shape, or foetal position).
- Never fall asleep with baby in skin to skin position - we know how exhausted you are mama!
- The obvious one, do not consume hot food/drinks for this special bonding time as baby will be extremely close to your head area.

Bon + Bear are not responsible for accidents or injuries that occur from improper use or alterations made to the wrap. Always check the garment for faults, worn areas or visible signs of damage and discontinue use immediately.
